Why work with horses?

Horses mirror our energy, not our language and thus are able to get to heart of the matter in a direct but non-confrontational manner.

“The horses are emotional mirrors and they give immediate, honest feedback in a way that nothing and no-one else can.” Andrew Froggat.

The nature of the work is to bypass the narrative and focus on the solutions and movement forward rather than remaining stuck. (as documented by Post traumatic growth experts on which this therapy is based and which been utilized in the USA for veterans, young people and others).

“Trauma is not what happens to you. Trauma is what happens inside of you, as a result of what happened to you." Gabor Mate.

The horse's heart is much larger than a human heart and its electromagnetic energy extends 5 times its size. This is able to help regulate a human's heart rhythm and is called a coherent heart pattern; meaning that they are able to respond to threats or risk with their flight or fight mechanism but then be able to return the pattern  off being calm.

We see this in observing Herd behaviour in the paddock where horses are alert to any danger, respond quickly and process the information and then return to grazing. We can learn a great deal from these sentient beings about how to navigate our own emotions and respond to situations.
